Fun with Friends

This weekend our dear friends Jocelyn and Kaleb came to visit (it's harvest so Shaun had to stay home and work).

Kaleb is just a few weeks younger then the Little Lady and they had a blast playing together!!!

Saturday afternoon we went down to visit my Grandparents. The kids had a big time playing on the playground equipment...they especially liked the merry-go-round.

T and Great Grandma were giving Whopper and Tom treats while Justin and my Grandpa hitched them up to take us for a ride.

Once the Little Lady discovered where the alfalfa cubes were, she was all about getting treats for the horses.

At one point, she grabbed a cube out of the bag, examined it and then proceeded to take a bite. I'm pretty sure she was wondering why Whopper and Tom liked them so much!

Grandpa took us for a nice ride around the ranch in the surrey wagon.

The kid that needed to take a nap (T) stayed busy the whole ride, while Kaleb took advantage of it and drifted off to dreamland for awhile!

Saturday was a beautiful fall day and we enjoyed lots of play time outside.

And just in case you were wondering...she's getting fast...

The Little Lady really was a rock star Walt Disney World vactioner. So of course she had to be rewarded properly...with her very own mouse ears! At times she loved wearing them...and at times she wanted nothing to do with them, but they are so darn cute!

And we of course had to rock them Tressie style...complete with the hair bow!

The Little Lady loves her little wading pool at home. But it's little, I had no idea how she'd react to a big pool.

We started out in the kiddie pool, essentially a big version of her little pool at home. She LOVED it!!! She giggled the entire time she was in it.

After a quick (3.2 second) rest on her beach towel...

...and a stolen sip of soda out of Grandma's cup...

She was ready to try the big pool.
She loved it just as much!

I see some swimming lessons in someone's future.

Tonight when I brought the Little Lady home from Grandma's, she decided to make her tank top into a skirt. She ran around like this all evening.

She then decided the Easter hat in the toy box completed the look.

I grabbed the camera and snapped a few pictures. She came over and was curious so I showed her one of the pictures on the camera screen. Her response: "Ewwwwww, look good." Yes, I kid you not!

One of her favorite things to do is to spin around until she's dizzy and falls down. She incorporated it into her Dancing With The Stars act tonight.

Yeh, we laugh a lot in our house!

Safari Time

Animal Kingdom used to be my least favorite Disney World Park, but I really enjoyed it this year. Maybe I enjoyed it more because Tressie really seemed to enjoy it.

Upon entering the park we met Lilo and Stitch.

As with the other characters, she loved them. Hugs all around!

Then it was safari time!

We got to see a lot of animals really close up.
{Don't miss the cute little baby elephant!}

The Little Lady really enjoyed the safari. She was able to get her eye on most of the animals; we heard lots of "oh" and "ah" with finger pointing.

One of the other highlights of Animal Kingdom for the Little Lady was Dinoland, complete with a huge "boneyard" playground.

And what trip to Dinoland would be complete without a ride on a flying dinosaur?!?

Our Little Princess

The Little Lady had two opportunities to spend time with the princesses. On the first morning, right after she met Mickey and Minnie, we went next door to meet Cinderella, Belle and Aurora.

She was a little unsure of Cinderella at first, but quickly warmed up.

Belle was for sure her favorite princess. Tressie ran right up to her with open arms! It's funny how much more she liked Belle. Belle did call her by name (her name was embroidered on her dress) so maybe that had something to do with it? Or maybe it's just Belle's fabulous yellow dress?!?

Here she is meeting Aurora, or more commonly known to some as Sleeping Beauty.

Tressie also got to have dinner with the princesses one night. Belle was the hostess, here she is greeting the Little Lady.

Tressie liked Aurora more this time around.

I think she's commenting on her crown and how she wants one!

I just had to include this picture. It must be what they teach the princesses at princess school to do to get the little ones to look at the camera. We have a picture of Cinderella doing the exact same thing.

You can't see Tressie's shoes in this particular picture, but she has very sparkley silver shoes on. Cinderella is commenting on her sparkley "slippers."

I think Tressie blew each one of the princesses a kiss. They of course loved that!

Breakfast with Winnie the Pooh and Friends

The first morning of our vacation, we had a special breakfast with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet at The Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom.

This was Tressie's first experience meeting any of the characters and she did great! Winnie the Pooh kind of surprised her from behind, that's why she has the unsure look on her face, but she quickly warmed up to him.

She thought Eeyore was pretty cool. They were giving each other high fives!

We did manage to get her to eat a little bit of breakfast despite all of the excitement. I wish breakfast was as fun as Mickey waffles every morning...and they even taste really good too!

Piglet was her favorite of this group. She loved his nose! She just kept hugging and kissing and loving on him!

Grandma and Grandpa bought her a stuffed Piglet to bring home with her since he was one of her favorite characters.

We were away from our table (it's a buffet) when Tigger came by. The place was super busy, but we had an awesome waiter who was determined to get Tigger back to our table, but the Little Lady started to get restless and so we decided to finish up breakfast and move on.

Breakfast at The Crystal Palace is always a great way to start the day at Magic Kingdom!

The Mickey and The Minnie

So, as most of you all know, we just returned from a week in Disney World. We had an amazing vacation! With the 600+ photos that I took, you'll be looking at Disney World pictures on both blogs for some time. Unsure of where to start, I decided it was only fitting to show you the pictures of the Little Lady with the stars of Disney World -- Mickey and Minnie.

I had no idea how the Little Lady would react to the characters. She watches and loves them on TV, but that's not quite the same as standing next to a six foot mouse.

Well, she LOVED the characters. She walked up to them with outstretched arms (literally) and hugged and kissed them. So sweet and so much fun for Mama and Daddy and Grandpa and Grandma to watch!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

The Little Lady is getting ready for her first big airplane ride...well actually her Mama's getting her ready...I'm pretty sure the Little Lady has no idea she's going to go on an airplane.

I am not so naive as to think this airplane ride is going to be simple or enjoyable...she's a busy toddler, but I've atleast attempted to arm her Dad, Grandma and Grandpa and myself with some fun things to help keep her entertained.

The Little Lady loves to watch TV (go ahead and judge now if you want...), so a portable DVD player with a couple of her favorite movies, Toy Story 3 and Micky Mouse Clubhouse, was a must. She also has an iPod shuffle filled with children's songs. {The only reason my child has an iPod is because I won it at a conference and her Dad and I both already have one.}

Tonight when we were testing the DVD player out, her jaw literally dropped, she got SO excited when she saw the little DVD player...so, fingers crossed!

Her little backpack came with this cute little purse. This should make her very happy, she's totally into purses. When I went on a business trip last month, I brought her home a stuffed animal and I had also bought myself a new wallet/purse. I was showing the wallet to my Mom after I had given Tressie her teddy bear, she wanted NOTHING to do with the teddy bear, but EVERYTHING to do with the wallet, toting it around slug over her shoulder. And what vacation purse would be complete without a cell phone and camera?!?

Snacks...a huge variety of snacks. These are just a few, we have a whole other bag just with snacks in it!

A princess flashlight! After buying it I realize maybe not the best thing for an airplane {are they even allowed in carry-on?!? I guess I better check...} but she'll have fun with it at the hotel anyways.

{Yes, we will start weaning her from it when we get home from vacation.}

So there you have it, atleast our attempt at entertaining her!
And I know Grandma has a bunch more goodies in her carry-on bag too...

A tea party

So, I realize it's been a lifetime (or two weeks) since I posted. Blog fail, sorry. So tonight, you get pretty uneventful tea party pictures. But the Little Lady was enjoying her little tea party (on the edge of the couch), while watching her favorite show, Good Luck Charlie.

She loves to take the little purple tea cups (you can see them in her toy box down by her foot) and shake milk out of her sippy cup into them and then drink out of her tea cup. Cute! : )

...Round Two

Since we had so much fun on our first trip, we just had to make another trip back over this evening for the BBQ and Jr. Livestock Sale.

Tressie rocked it straight up cowgirl tonight, complete with her turquoise, blingy belt and boots!

The red wagon that we gave the Little Lady for Christmas has been the best gift ever! She much prefers it to her stroller (I think she can see things better and feels like she has more freedom). Grandpa has even figured out how to quickly take the handle off so Grandpa and Grandma can even stick it in the trunk of their car...that's how much she likes it!

Farm Credit (where I work) serves watermelon at this county fair. Tressie loves her some watermelon!

After the BBQ, we made our way over to the sale ring. It didn't take long before the Little Lady had lost her boots and was running around playing bare foot in the dirt! She had a blast playing with all of the kids. Here she is going for a wagon ride with her little pal Ava.

Tomorrow we are headed to Kiowa for the Elbert County Fair to watch our nieces and nephews sale their 4-H animals and then Sunday it'll be another trip to Kiowa for the ranch rodeo. 'Tis the season for county fairs!

Place Your Bets

This morning we ventured to the Cheyenne County Fair for the turtle races.

For the past couple of weeks Grandpa and Daddy have been recruiting turtles (stopping every time they see one and picking it up to bring home, only if it tries to get away from them, we don't want any duds). We've had a turtle dorm in our stock trailer where they've spent their days in the weight room and on the track and their nights eating a high protein diet. OK, not really...they've spent their days doing whatever turtles do and their nights eating weeds and dog food.

But today was finally the big day...time for "Tressie's Turtle Trotters" to head to the big race. (The big race is free to enter and the winner takes home $50 bucks!)

In case you've never been to a turtle race, here's how it works. Heats of 10 turtles are placed inside the starting gates. Upon the start, the contraption is removed and the first turtle out of the chalk circle wins.

And they're off!!!

There were 98 turtles entered in today's race. Tressie's turtles didn't win, but we still had fun. Maybe those east side county turtles have better genetics or something?!?

The Little Lady's First Flower Girl Gig

When a 17-month-old is charged with the duty of flower girl, you never know what might happen...but I think Tressie did a very good job!

After much deliberation as to whether or not to let her walk down the aisle by herself, or with some of her older cousins who were bridesmaid/groomsmen, we decided to let her go it alone. The Little Lady never showed much fear. She headed down the aisle, only to quickly become distracted by all of the people to stop and visit with along the way.

So after stopping to visit (with a stranger, none the less!), one of her older cousins who was an usher, helped her make the rest of the way down the aisle.

She quickly realized that she was center stage with a captive audience. I snuck up to the side and was whispering and motioning, "Tressie, come here." To which her response was a little giggle and to run away : )

After we got the silly little flower girl out of the way, the real star made her way down the aisle. Chevy looked stunning! I must admit, I'm not usually a huge fan of mermaid style dresses, but this dress was made for Chevy! It looked so perfect on her, she was gorgeous! (And from the looks of it, I think my cousin Josh, thought so too!)

It was a great ceremony and I'm so happy that they asked T to be a part of it!

You'll notice that she ended up bare foot. She had darling little white dress shoes, but even before the ceremony started they had rubbed huge blisters on her heals. It must be awesome to be 1-year-old and be able to get away with walking down the aisle in a wedding bare foot!

We had a great 4th of July party (yesterday, on the 3rd) at my Mom and Dad's. While I was working on starting to edit some of the pictures, I noticed that the Little Lady changed clothes a lot yesterday! Even though these pictures aren't the best, here's a look at her many outfits.

Yes, since we go visit Dr. Hoover this Friday, we brushed her teeth for the first time tonight.

You might remember that the Easter Bunny brought the Little Lady a new swing for Easter. Well, it's been sitting in our office on the floor since then. For the past several weeks, T going in the office, sitting in the swing, pulling the lap bar up and rocking herself back and forth, has become a nightly occurrence. OK Mom and Dad, get the swing hung up already! Daddy was able to get it hung up on Monday when he was home with T.

And as you can see, she loves it!

Now, if the weather will just be warm enough this weekend for us to bust out her pool, because you guessed it, playing in an empty swimming pool has become a nightly occurrence too!

So, this morning someone was wishing the Easter bunny would just go crawl back into its hole and let her sleep.

We had to get up early (and according to this little sorority girl's schedule, early is anything before 10AM, yes the Little Lady likes to sleep in!) so that we could see what the Easter bunny brought and make it to Grandma and Grandpa's house in time for breakfast and then church.

After some milk, we were in a little better mood, but still really sleepy.

She followed the egg trail out into the living room, but before she was even at all interested in looking at her goodies, she had to do one important thing...find her bop!

Bop in hand, or I guess that would be bop in mouth, she was ready to rock n' roll and very excited about what the Easter bunny brought her!

Easter Eggs!!!

The other day I gave the Little Lady a bunch of plastic eggs to play with. Undoubtedly, her new favorite toy. Yesterday at Target I picked up this adorable basket for a $1. We've been trying to get her to "hunt" eggs, but rather than picking them up and putting them in her basket, she'd rather break them into two and throw them on the ground.

Tonight, we dyed the real thing at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

The Little Lady wanted nothing more than to get right in the middle of it.

Meet Oreo. (Yes, we are original here on the Hammer Ranch.)

Oreo is an orphan. (Yes, sad I know.)
But when you're an orphan goat, you quickly turn into a puppy dog and become very fond of your humans. (Although, Oreo isn't your typical bottle baby, he actually eats from an Irish Dexter cow. Yes, you're going to need to see pictures of that, coming soon.)

Today, the Little Lady and I headed to Brush for our favorite little man's first birthday party! (Daddy chose to go to Cash's branding over Kalab's party, can you believe that?!?)

We had a great time at Kaleb's barnyard themed party, very cute!

Today was the day.
The Little Lady took her first good digger.
And it was a doozy!

Darn heater vent tripped her up and sent her head first into her rocking chair.

We knew it was for real because she cried. (She never cries.)
Well that and the giant purple goose-egg that appeared in 1.2 seconds.

Rookie Mom and Dad were a little shook up.
Grandma came and made everyone all better.

The Little Lady chose to chew on her ice pack rather than ice her knot.

She's all back to normal now, her and her daredevil ways, trying to get a matching one for the other side.

The Little Lady walks!

As strong as the Little Lady is and as early as she did everything else, we all swore she'd be walking by 9-months. Well, she had other plans and we all know that things happen on this stubborn little gals terms, and only her terms.

We all tried to help her walk, holding her hands, trying to help her. She hated this. We'd grab her hands and her legs would instantly turn to noodles and she'd fall down. This was the case up until Tuesday of this week. Wednesday, she decided she'd walk. Wednesday night she was taking four and five steps. Thursday night she was walking across the room.

Last night we had Grandpa and Grandma over for dinner, after dinner with a captive audience, she was walking all over, changing directions, standing up in the middle of the floor after she'd fallen down, climbing onto the couch just so she could bail off and do it all over again.

She’s recently added “I do” to the top of her list as well.

On Friday afternoon Grandma and I were busy baking and decorating for the big birthday party. Grandpa came in for lunch. The Little Lady was in something she shouldn’t have been.

Tressie: “I DO!” {yells the naughty one-year-old with attitude}

Without ANY encouragement or prompting at all, when her birthday party was wrapping up, T laid a big wet one on Kaleb. No kidding.

I missed it the first time {like I said, it was without prompting and encouragement, totally unexpected}, but here she is going in for smooch number two.

"Auntie Jos, am I in trouble for smooching your little man?!?"

Ahhhh...young love.

Presents and Cake!

There were just a few presents :)

The Little Lady enjoyed unwrapping her presents...

But most of all, she was into her cards! I had to continually take her cards away from her to get her to open the present that came with them.

Monster Bash!

Yesterday was the Little Lady's "Monster Bash" 1st Birthday Party!

I've been in full party planning mode for the past month and with some help from Heather at Chickabug {she designed all of the great "Monster Bash" decorations you'll see}, I think the party turned out just perfect.

The ruffled crepe paper might have been some work, but I think it turned out perfect! {You can read about my ruffled crepe paper project here.}

I have seen these great tissue paper pom-poms on several blogs. I enlisted my friend Martha for a little how-to.

{I was so proud of my "cheap" decorations...I don't think you can get much cheaper than tissue paper and crepe paper. With a little time and creativity, you can turn cheap into fabulous!}

What a great day!!!

11:50PM last night - Our Little Lady that usually sleeps solid through the night, awakens. Did she know it was about to be her first birthday?!?!

Grandma brought her to Limon today for visits to both Mama and Daddy's offices and lunch at Ruby's. What a special treat for Mama and Daddy!

This evening Grandma fixed us a great spaghetti dinner, and as usual, the Little Lady chowed down.

{Mama had to make a trip to the big city for work this afternoon, so T got a special birthday treat...balloons!}

After our delicious dinner, it was time for cake.

She started out pretty daintily...

That didn't last long!

Then she just got plum silly!

Next, it was time to open a few presents. Her party is on Saturday, but what's a birthday without presents?!?!

Great-Grandpa and Grandma Hammer came over for cake. Here she is opening her present from them: a new bank shaped like a cowboy boot (it's even red to match her room!) and money.

{You'll notice she had to loose her jeggings after cake. ***Note to self for Saturday...cake second!}

Today we got our Girl Scout cookies from our favorite girl scout E.

When I walked in the door from work with them, not one box was opened. Throughout the course of cooking dinner, I managed to open every single box.

T helped me sample them.

Don't judge us.
Yes, I am feeding my baby cookies, and before dinner at that.
Yes, she is still in her pajamas (she had a leisurely day with her Dad today).
Again, don't judge us.

The verdict is in - the shortbread cookies are good!
So are the other three boxes : )

This day is as crystal clear in my memory as if it happened just yesterday. I had a 10AM appointment with Dr. Lalonde and after a weekend of feeling pretty yucky: blood pressure issues, gall bladder issues, nausea, I knew that he’d be inducing me and even though all along I wanted to hold out as long as possible (partly because I had my maternity leave all worked out in my head according to my due date (rookie!) and I was admittedly nervous about being induced) I was finally ready.

I told Justin not to go to work to come to my appointment with me because today was the day. My Mom and Dad already had plans to be in the Springs for another appointment. Dr. Lalonde was the doctor on call that night at the hospital. All of the stars were aligning; we were going to get to meet our baby girl soon!

As expected, Dr. Lalonde told us to go have a good lunch and be back at the hospital at 12:30PM. We went home and settled Lucy and Lacy in and after lunch with my parents, we went to the hospital and we waited. I was admitted and shown to my room where I unpacked and methodically set up for “battle.” In my carefully packed bag I had EVERYTHING that any magazine, online article or friend had ever suggested. As it turned out, I really wouldn’t have time or the need for all the fun and games I had packed.

At 2:30PM, a nurse started me on Pictocin. Shortly thereafter, informed me she was stopping it because I was having good contractions on my own (my Mom had already figured this out from the monitors). I didn’t even realize I was having contractions, that’s a good thing! I saw Dr. Lalonde at 5:00PM, he broke my water (I instantly went from not feeling anything to feeling everything, threw-up and requested my epidural). Dr. Lalonde said we were probably looking at a 2 or 3AM delivery.

My team (Mom and Dad, Katie and Will) left to get some dinner. I made the team captain say with me : ) My nurse checked me at 7 or 7:30PM and I was at 9 cm. Wahoo, everyone was so pleasantly surprised! At 9:29PM, Miss Tressie Laine made her debut. My team got back from dinner just in time to meet the Little Lady. We have been in love and in awe over her from the second we laid eyes on her.

{And second best thing about March 1, 2010…as soon as the Little Lady made her appearance, nine months of nausea came to an end!}

The Little Lady's Latest

Almost two months ago, the Little Lady turned 10-months-old.
I did not do a 10 month post.
Fail.

Almost one month ago, the Little Lady turned 11-months-old.
I did not do an 11 month post.
Fail.

So guess what that means, in one week the Little Lady will turn 1-year-old!

So a quick recap of the past two months:

She is growing like crazy. Often, people comment on how big she is for her age. I’m not sure if she’s really that big for her age, but I think she has caught up to at least middle of the pack from the peanut she was at birth!

Jibber jabbers nonstop. Whether she’s talking to you or is in the other room by herself, she is talking. She often uses her loud voice (she is part Hammer after all), but it totally cracks me up when she whispers. Still not a whole lot of words besides Mama and Dada, sometimes we can get her to mimic us. This morning she was working on mastering “bop” (her pacifier).

Speaking of the bop, it is still an important part of her life, probably her most valued possession. :) She’d be happy to show you all the tricks she can do with it. You should see her when she gets a hold of two of them, double fisting it.

Not quite walking yet. She will stand on her own for a few seconds, almost takes that step…and then thinks better of it. It won’t be long; until then, she’ll continue to be the fastest crawler this side of the Mississippi.

We have a climber on our hands. She attempts to crawl to the top of everything, even the impossible, it doesn’t matter that something is 6 feet tall; she believes she can conquer it!

Still totally social. Many times she would prefer to be held by a new friend that she’s meeting for the very first time, rather than boring old Mama or Grandma. She often sticks her arms out and asks to be held by people that she’s meeting for the very first time, and squeals when we take her back.

I mentioned that she’s growing like crazy and that’s because she’s a great eater! She still drinks a bottle when she wakes up in the morning and when she goes to bed at night, usually with one or two more throughout the day. She’ll put away a couple of containers of baby food faster than a teenage boy can down a pizza, but her real desire is “real” food. She always asks for bites of whatever we’re eating and we’re working toward more and more of that and less and less baby food. She had her very first Taco Bell soft taco on Saturday and loved it. Yes, I realize some of you may not consider this real food, but in our house, Taco Bell is the sixth food group.

This rocking chair was Tressie's Grandma's when she was a little girl.
Then her Mama used it.
And now...T loves it!

It's in T's room at Grandpa and Grandma's house.

So today, Grandma and I brought it out into the living room and set her in it and she loved it! She set in it and actually set still...for maybe even a whole minute!

Jenn's Wedding

This afternoon we had the honor of attending Jenn and Tyler's wedding.

Jenn was an absolutely beautiful bride.
I was more interested in her pretty flowers than anything else!

I had lots of fun...especially because my friends Skyla and Kelsi were there!

(Mama says if she was a Photo Shop expert, she'd patch these two pictures together and have a fabulous one...but she's not, so you'll have to patch them together in your head!)

Last night me and Justin were watching Grey’s, and maybe we were just a little too into it because all of the sudden we weren’t sure where T was. (It is just a single wide trailer, not too many places for her to go, so let’s not get too worked up!)

We had most of the lights off, just a few lamps on.
Justin went one direction, I went the other.

Next thing I hear….
ROAAAARRRR as little Tressie comes out from underneath the kitchen table as if she had been waiting patiently for the right chance to jump out and scare us.

Baby Goats

My Grandpa and Grandma have baby goats...lots of them! Well, I guess I should say soon they will have lots of them! Right now they just have one set of triplets.

Here I am all ready to go visit the goat barn.

Here I am with two of them. They are spunky, Mama never could get a picture of me with all three of them.

I'm beginning to like them more and more. My first visit I got a little frightened when one of them cried for their mama.

By the way, do you like my new hat?!? Mama and Daddy got it for me for Christmas; it's my goat checkin' hat.

Club Christmas Lunch

This past Sunday, we attended the Wild Horse Club Christmas Lunch. My Grandpa and Grandma hosted it at their house.

Great-Grandpa is pretty proud of the Little Lady. His favorite thing to tell everyone when he's holding her is "eat your heart out!" : )

So even with her snotty nose and chapped cheeks from her cold and her hair bow falling down over her eyes, I'd say she still looks pretty darn cute!

OK, I've been going along with it..."Santa Rocks!"

Ahhh...back in the safe arms of Mama.

Not only did we go see Santa yesterday, we also visited Dr. Hoover and Grandma Freda and Miss Pam.

My visit with Dr. Hoover was good. Come to think of it, he has a white beard and glasses...I like him way more than this Santa character.
I weighed in at 19 pounds 5.5 ounces and 27 inches. He says I'm doing great!

It was also so fun to go visit Grandma Freda and Miss Pam (my babysitters). I was happy to see them and I think they were pretty happy to see me too.

Now, thank goodness the trailerhood doesn't have a chimney!

Today we went to Great Grandma Kinkade's house for a great time celebrating Thanksgiving with Daddy's family.

We got to meet 3-month-old, second cousin Kensie for the first time.

My First Thanksgiving

My first turkey day was really exciting!

We went to Great Grandpa and Grandma Chisman's in Hanover.

I got a Little People nativity scene and it helped keep me entertained while lunch preparations were finished up.

Handprint Turkeys

We had craft night at our house tonight!

Mama was able to find the paint we needed at Alco, but she was a little disappointed that they didn't have wiggly eyes. Oh well, next year. Mama plans to help me make a handprint turkey each Thanksgiving, so we can see how I grow over the years.

Here's the only picture of me during our craft night...before the project got started. Once our project was under way it took both of Mama and Daddy's hands to accomplish this project!

We made cards for all of my Grandparents with this cute little poem that Mama found...

The Big Eight

Tressie is 8-months-old today! The other day on one of my friend's blogs, she told seven things about her little girl in honor of her 7-month birthday, what a cute idea! So here are eight things about T:

1. She now has two teeth. Well, not full blown teeth, but her bottom two have broke through.

2. She is getting a little more "fuzz" on top, but still not much hair to speak of. It's still very hard to tell what color it's going to be, some days it looks dark, some days light, you can usually always see a touch of red in the sunlight.

3. She is wearing anywhere from size 6-month to 9-month clothes. Although I have recently bought some 9-month stuff that is almost too small. I am anxious for our 9-month check-up with Dr. Hoover next month to see how much she's grown!

4. T is very social. Loves everyone and loves to be in the spotlight, she's quite the little flirt. She eats it up when we're out shopping and strangers stop to talk to her, and for all of us she sees everyday, she's quite the ham!

5. She LOVES ice cream! I'm talking LOVE LOVE LOVES ice cream. Last night Grandma was sharing her ice cream with T and if Grandma didn't give her a bite every time she took a bite, she growled at her. Yes, literally growled. Oh, and when it was gone...yes, there were tears.

6. Her latest trick is waving. She's pretty much mastered it and when we leave Grandpa and Grandma's, she usually has a wave for them.

7. Dada and Mama and a whole lot of jibber jabber make up her vocabulary. On that note, her least favorite word is NO, and unfortunately she is already hearing plenty of it!

8. Her new goal in life: walking. She stands at the edge of the couch, looking at the edge of the chair and you can see it all over her face, "I could so walk over there." We have a balance issue that we need to resolve before we take on walking. She has crawling down pat, chasing Lucy and Lacy through the house, making it into the other room before you know she's gone, etc...

Getting ready to go...hanging out with my friend Jack.

First stop, Great-Grandpa and Grandma Hammer's.
They gave me a tootsie pop and I knew exactly what to do with it!

Great-Grandma gave me a gold dollar. I also got money to feed my piggy from Great-Grandpa and Grandma Chisman, Grandpa and Grandma Hammer and Great-Aunt Jean and Great-Uncle Bill.

Mom and Grandma took me into Kit Carson to make the rounds. I had a GREAT time! I thoroughly enjoyed visiting with everyone. (Every time we went into a new house she could hardly contain her excitement bouncing up and down, grinning ear to ear.)

Hmmm...what do we have here?!?

This weekend Mama and I went to visit Auntie Katie and Uncle Willy.

My Uncle Willy is an avid hunter.

We had a great time, except...
THEY HAVE MONSTERS IN THEIR HOUSE!!!

T was a big sissy when it came to the mounts! She was really afraid of Uncle Willy's big elk. She would tense up and close her eyes whenever she came near it. By the end of the weekend she decided to put on her big girl pants and would laugh at it.

I think we heard that phrase 67 times today!

Mama and Grandma drug me on another one of their marathon shopping trips today. Mama was going to make me wear my Halloween costume...thank you Grandma for saving me from that one. So instead I wore my super cute jack-o-lantern shirt and coordinating hair bow (would you expect anything less?!?), with my brand new stylin' jeggings ("jean leggings" for those of you not up on your fashion vocab) and my skull and cross bone booties...remember those?

Yep, I looked cute.

Tressie's Corral

Tressie's been having to spend a lot more time in her playpen, or corral as her Dad calls it. She is all over the place, pulling up to everything and then proceeding to fall over backwards and bang her head on the floor. Although it doesn't seem to bother her too much, we do someday want her to be able to pass the first grade.

This morning when we were eating breakfast, the silly little girl kept pressing her face and mouth on the playpen "wall" and licking it. It was pretty darn hilarious.
